Coposition Terms, Conditions and Privacy Policy

How You Use Coposition Services

By creating a Coposition account and/or downloading the Coposition mobile application, you agree not to use Coposition services for any illegal activity or malicious action. For as long as you use our Services, you consent to downloading and installing updates to our Services, including automatically. Coposition reserves the right to disable any account for a breach of the terms of usage.

You must access and use Coposition services only for legal, authorized, and acceptable purposes. You will not use (or assist others in using) Coposition services in ways that: (a) violate, misappropriate, or infringe the rights of Coposition, our users, or others, including privacy and publicity; (b) are illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, intimidating, harassing, hateful, racially, or ethnically offensive, or instigate or encourage conduct that would be illegal, or otherwise inappropriate, including promoting violent crimes.

You must not (or assist others to) access, use, copy, adapt, modify, prepare derivative works based upon, distribute, license, sublicense, transfer, display, perform, or otherwise exploit Coposition services in impermissible or unauthorized manners, or in ways that burden, impair, or harm us, our services, systems, our users, or others, including that you must not directly or through automated means: (a) reverse engineer, alter, modify, create derivative works from, decompile, or extract code from our services; (b) send, store, or transmit viruses or other harmful computer code through or onto our services; (c) gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our services or systems; (d) interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our services; (e) create accounts for our Services through unauthorized or automated means; (f) collect the information of or about our users in any impermissible or unauthorized manner; or (g) sell, resell, rent, or charge for our Services.

You are responsible for keeping your devices and your Coposition account safe and secure, and you must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or security breach of your account or Coposition services.

How Your Data is Used

Privacy.

Coposition is built on a foundation of user privacy. The following policy sets out how we use information relating to you and applies to all use of data by Coposition.

We process data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will only send you marketing communications with your consent. By registering an account, you allow us to send you an initial email with instructions and tips, newsletters with Coposition news and updates, and follow up emails which alert you to actions required in connection to the authorisation of external apps to access your geolocation data. These emails can be turned off.

We use information about you, including information derived from cookies and other tracking technologies, to help us operate our app and for marketing purposes. We may disclose information about you in certain circumstances and this privacy policy may change from time to time.

About Coposition.

Coposition is a storage centre for your geolocation data, from which you can permit 3rd party applications to access your data and customise this flow of data. This geolocation data is created by the Coposition mobile app, which can be installed on numerous devices.

What data do we collect and how is it used?

We may ask you for, or you may submit, personal and non-personal information and data to us when you use the App and the Coposition website. We use this data to register and administer your user account. We record your password in an encrypted format.

We use your email address to contact you about your use of the Coposition services, to provide you with news about us and to offer you additional services. We also use your email address to synchronise your information across your user accounts and devices.

We use your location data so that the map knows where you are.

We may anonymise information about you and then aggregate it with information about other users in order to gain insights into how individuals are using Coposition services.

When you get in contact with us we may keep records of what is communicated. This is to ensure we have a record of our discussion for future reference and so we can provide services to you more efficiently.

We might collect sensitive information about you, but we will never collect your sensitive information without your explicit consent.

Location data.

The Coposition mobile app, and website, can be used to create location data. This location data is sent to our secure servers, and stored as your data. You can create, edit, and destroy your location data as you please through the Coposition platform, and doing this updates the master copy of this data. Your location data can be shared with other users and with 3rd party applications, once you as the owner of the data have authorised this access to your data. How this data can be accessed, and the accuracy of this data, is at the discretion of the user, subject to the available options provided by Coposition. You can update your access permissions and the manner in which your location data is created, including frequency of check-in creation, through the Coposition mobile app and the Coposition website. If auto-checkin is turned on, your location may be sent to the Coposition servers automatically. Users can make their data publicly visible, and if so any viewer of the public sharing URL can view user location data.

Cookies and app usage analysis.

We use 'cookies’ and similar technologies on the mobile app and website ("Cookies"). Cookies are small computer files which Coposition may store in your Internet browser, enabling your Internet browser and Coposition to communicate with each other. Other similar technologies may operate in a different way but, like Cookies, are used to analyse how Coposition services are being used.

Cookies enable us to record anonymous information about you, including: the type of Internet browser you use to access Coposition services, your computer operating system, the websites you visited before accessing Coposition services, the areas of the Coposition website you visit, how long you visit Coposition websites and your IP address (which can provide information about your approximate geographic location). We do not use Cookies to determine your individual identity.

Management of data.

We will use information collected about you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2009.

By submitting information you agree to our use of information about you as described in this privacy policy.

If you believe we have information about you that you do not want us to have or that you think is incorrect, please contact us.

Although we will do our best to protect information about you, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to Coposition servers. Any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received information about you, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access to that Information.

Information about you may be sent outside of the European Economic Area, including to countries whose data protection rules are less stringent than those found in the European Economic Area.

Marketing.

We may send you marketing emails about products or services which are similar to or related to those offered by Coposition, or contact you by email with information about Coposition services. We will not send you any other marketing emails or pass on your contact information to third parties unless you give your consent or you have given it p already.

If you provide information about a friend of yours as part of an invitation to create a Coposition account, we will send your friend a single email about the App and we will store their personal information to the minimum extent necessary. When you provide us with your friend's information, you are confirming that you have their consent to this use of their information. We will tell your friend that you provided their details when we contact them.

Data retention.

We will only hold data about you for as long as necessary, bearing in mind the purpose for which that data was collected. Geolocation data will be stored until you determine that you would like it removed or until your decide to completely delete your Coposition account.

General.

If you follow a link from any Coposition application or website to any third party application or website, you should be aware that those applications and/or websites may have their own privacy policies. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for those applications. Please check the policies of any third party applications or websites before submitting any personal data to them.

We may make changes to this privacy policy in the future, which will be posted on this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure you are aware of any changes. Where appropriate we may notify you of changes by email or by putting a notice in the Coposition website and/or mobile applications.
